Who is Philipp Muller-Wirth ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Philipp Muller-Wirth Chief of Sport Section Sector for Social and Human Sciences, has had a distinguished career at UNESCO since 1991, focusing on three primary areas: partnerships with the business community, institutional communication and branding, and sport policy. He is currently spearheading UNESCO\u2019s innovative global alliance, Fit for Life, which aims to harness cutting-edge data and tools to help governments and private investors unlock the full potential of sport for development.
Philipp’s notable contributions include coordinating UNESCO\u2019s last three World Conferences of Sport Ministers (MINEPS V, VI, and VII) in 2013, 2017, and 2023. He also chaired the 2015 revision of the International Charter of Physical Education, Physical Activity, and Sport, and serves as Secretary of UNESCO\u2019s Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS).

Who is Judith Mair?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associate Professor Judith Mair is Discipline Leader of the Tourism Discipline Group at the UQ Business School, University of Queensland, Australia. She received her PhD from the University of Strathclyde in 2005, focusing on decision-making in the context of academic conferences. She also completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Victoria University, Melbourne, and worked in the Department of Management at Monash University, Melbourne, before coming to UQ in 2014.

Conference Presentation<\/strong>
Judith\u2019s work aims to understand and enhance the positive impacts of tourism and events on the communities and societies which host them. She is working on a number of projects in fields including Olympic Games legacies, the links between events and social connectivity (including social capital, social cohesion and social justice) and assessing the potential impacts of climate change on the tourism and events sector.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
